Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to your luxurious hotel.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City | Riding by Cyclo
Set out to discover Ho Chi Minh City, pausing to visit pivotal Reunification Hall; Notre Dame Cathedral, built by French colonists; and the Central Post Office, its architecture reflecting Gothic, Renaissance and French influences. After lunch at a local restaurant, explore Chinatown. Continue to bustling, centrally located Binh Tay Market and Chinese-style Thien Hau Pagoda. (B L D)

Day 3: My Tho | Setting Sail
After a morning at leisure, transfer to My Tho and board luxurious ‘Aqua Mekong’ to set sail on the fabled Mekong. The twelfth-largest river in the world, the Mekong spans 2,700 miles and flows through six countries, from the Tibetan Plateau through China's Yunnan province, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Serving as a major trade route between western China and Southeast Asia, this “mother of water” — also called the River Khong — flows through mountains and dense forests and past floating markets, affording a scenic passage through areas of rich biodiversity. (B D)

Days 4-6: Mekong River | Cruising the Mekong
Begin the day at Binh Thanh mat weaving village. Alternately, visit the port city of Sa Dec, seeing its vibrant market and the house of French author Marguerite Duras’ lover, Huynh Thuy Le. Here, she set much of her autobiographical novel, The Lover. After lunch on board, visit the quaint village of My An Hung. Traverse its lush plantations and sample local fruit alongside residents while listening to traditional folk music. You may also set out on an optional bike ride. The following morning, travel by skiff to Chau Doc floating market. Then, pay a visit to Long Son Pagoda atop Sam Mountain, where you visit with monks. You may also choose to cycle on Long Khanh Island or take a rickshaw ride to Tan Chau Market alongside your vessel’s chef. On your final day on the legendary river, learn about the art of dyeing and weaving traditional kromas (scarves), gaining insight from locals. You may also explore the riverbank by bike. Then, take a skiff to visit to the remote village of Preah Prosop to experience the pace and practices of daily life. (B L D)

Day 7: Phnom Penh, Cambodia | Past Meets Present
Disembark in Phnom Penh. See the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum by tuk-tuk. You may then opt to pay a poignant visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide, which serves as a memorial to the victims of the Khmer Rouge; proceed to the Killing Fields, where more than a million people were killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime. Alternately, shop for handicrafts at the busy Russian Market. (B L)

Day 8: Siem Reap | Discovering the Ancient Capital
Transfer to the airport and fly to Siem Reap. Discover Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. See the richly adorned Bayon Temple; aptly named Terrace of the Elephants, its remains marked with pachyderm carvings; and Leper King Terrace, believed to have been used as a royal cremation site. This evening, visit Bayon-style Ta Prohm, one of Angkor's most memorable temples. (B)

Day 9: Siem Reap | In Awe of Angkor Wat
Spend the morning exploring Angkor Wat’s stunning temples, part of a hidden lost city tucked into the jungle. After lunch, proceed to Banteay Srei — dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva — and Banteay Samre, named after an ancient people of Indochina. (B L)

Day 10: Depart Siem Reap
Embark on a boat ride on the Tonle Sap. After lunch, transfer to the airport and board your homebound flight. (B L)
